Giant Dragon Plush Commission - Blaze by Stitchfan Giant Dragon Plush Commission - Blaze by Stitchfan
This is Blaze, a giant dragon plush commissioned by :iconvarathael:
- He is 39" long from nose to tail.
- The horns, eyes, and claws were sculpted from various materials and the head is solid foam.
- The head is too heavy to stand up on it's own, so he rests it on his paws.
- The scales/spikes/spines on the back and neck are made from the same fleece as most of the body.
- Wings have an endoskeleton made from various gauges of wire, allowing them to be folded up or extended (this should not be done often, and handled gently, as the wire will ware down and possibly compromise seams).
- He's held together with hot glue stitches for all seams except the ones that give shape/lines to the paws.

Though it may not be perfect, I am proud of this challenging project's outcome. :D

This looks so amazing.
I find it interesting about the hot glue stiches! I would not have guessed.
Great job.

Thanks. It doesn't work perfectly in all cases, but if done right it can be very useful.

Please feel free to send a reference (or detailed description of your plush). I can give you a specific quote if you send me the following with that:
- description of what *materials you would like used for each color/part of the animal
- roughly how big you would like it to be (in inches)
- Your postal code so I can estimate shipping

A commission like the Dragon would be around $300, but price can vary based on detail/labor, shipping, and materials used.
I buy almost all my fabrics from [link]
They have the best shipping prices and quality fabrics that I know of (and I've sampled a lot of companies' fabrics).

*Materials:
- No-pill Fleece (smooth Muppet material like that dragon) is only $5 for a yard (about 3'x5')
- Cuddle fur or Minky Fleece (soft plushy materials found in most soft plushies in stores) is about $11 per yard
- Long Pile fur (Fluffy, with actual volume to it that can be styled or trimmed for fursuits) is about $24 per yard

Let me know if you have any questions. ^__^

He would be quite a challenge to create as a plush (and unfortunately, more expensive due to the details and materials involved)
He does look awesome though :D
